Political and cultural figures are coming out, but insults, physical violence and cyber harassment are claiming more victims. While society is becoming more accepting of homosexuality, discovering oneself, growing up and asserting oneself as a homosexual is still a unique and lonely journey. Homos en France is the film that tells the intimate story of being lesbian, gay, bi or pan in France today, whatever your background. Through the testimonies of anonymous people or celebrities, the decoding of the great stages of self-discovery, the re-reading of powerful images, of homosexual pride, but also of the more or less conscious homophobia of our popular culture, the film shows the incredible battle that has already been fought but is still unfinished. The struggle to be oneself and to live like others.

1955, Paris. Mischievous 13-year old Cookie falls in love with Lucienne, 25, a ravishing prostitute, who is controlled by her vicious boyfriend/pimp Jules. Lucienne sets the financial bar so high, Cookie cannot possibly come up with the money. Yet when he does, she refuses him because he is not a man. When that day comes, he saves her from Jules and they make love. But when Cookie is given the opportunity to go to America, she tells him she no longer loves him. But in reality, she knows she would hold him back. Years later, he returns to her side as she is dying and learns the truth. But by then, it's too late.

Socially-challenged hitman Charles lives in Cannes and wants to retire with a yacht and a woman in tow. He has no experience with either until he lets his cleaning lady (delectable Essex-girl Lisa) into his life, but he doesn't bank on her vile boyfriend Denny or con-artists Simon and Ray stealing a two million quid nest egg from the boot of his car. Charles hunts them down across the Cote d'Azur whilst pursued by his rival Clancy who is incensed by the fact that Charles might actually be retiring.

This brief series (12 episodes of 10 or 15 minutes each screened over a three week period) followed the adventures of a family pursuing the English football team around France during the World Cup. The series was written during filming to acknowledge the success or failure of the team in the competition.
